Date math without the guesswork
Dates look simple until you try to count them. Months run from 28 to 31 days, leap years slip an extra day into February, and week numbers follow a standard that most calendars hide. DaysTo takes care of all of it so you get an answer you can trust, whether you are working out how old someone is, how many working days are left in a project, or how long until the next holiday.
Every tool here follows the same principles. Calculations use whole calendar days measured from your device's local date, so today always means the date on your wall. Leap years are counted exactly, business days skip Saturday and Sunday, and week numbers follow the ISO 8601 standard used across most of the world. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored, because the math happens right in your browser.
Where the holiday dates come from
Each of the 68 countdowns carries a rule rather than a stored date, so it resolves itself every year without anyone maintaining it. Every countdown page states that rule in plain language, links to a primary source where one has been verified directly, and says so openly where none has. It also lists the next ten years with the weekday for each, which is usually what people are really checking. The method and the full source list are on the about page.

The countdown widget is one line of HTML: an iframe with no script to install, no account and no tracking, so a launch page, wedding site or event listing can carry a live counter that never drifts. The same data is published as free JSON under CC BY 4.0, including a complete ISO 8601 week calendar per year, which is surprisingly hard to find in machine-readable form anywhere else.
Common questions
How many days are in a year?
A common year has 365 days and a leap year has 366. On average a year is about 365.2425 days long, which is why the calendar adds a leap day roughly every four years to stay aligned with the seasons.
How do I count the number of days between two dates?
Count the whole midnights that separate the two calendar dates. The date difference calculator does this for you and also reports weeks, months, years and business days, with an option to include or exclude the end date.
